 i just saw something yesterday that i need someone to confirm. in dbz kai, when goku starts powering up, vegeta says his power is increasing exponentially. this line is not in the strength checker, but is it in the manga? if so, it explains the small scouter gaps for large differences of effectiveness. the scouter numbers are not linear, they are exponential. a pl of 8000 is actually several times as powerful as 5,000. so when, for example, korin says that goku got several times as powerful from his training, that translates to only, maybe, 30% increase in power level.
